Silver: The Wildest Money in History

Silver is the wildest money in history. It was money for millennia, then demonetized by the Crime of 1873. Cornered by the Hunt brothers in 1980. Vertical once again in 2011. Half money, half industrial metal — silver follows an eternal pattern: gold moves first, silver moves vertically. In part two of the gold and silver trilogy, I walk through silver's whole story: silver as money (argent, China, the Crime of 1873), the Hunt brothers corner of 1980, 2011 happening again, silver's dual nature as half money and half industry, the eternal gold-first-silver-vertical pattern, and the gold/silver ratio with Oliver's catch-up thesis. Part two ends with the teaser: next is the debasement machine.
